January is a time for new starts, and it’s a good time to review your estate planning documents to make sure they’re all in order. If you don’t have them, then to learn about the types of documents that could become important, such as power of attorney, to have someone who can help you make decisions if you’re not able to do that by yourself. If you’ve made a will or trust, is it up to date? Are your assets properly titled in the trust? Are your healthcare directives up to date, based on the current condition of your health? It’s time to take stock of these items.
