The Alzheimer’s Association Washington State Chapter invites area residents to participate in one of several Walk to End Alzheimer’s events being hosted around Puget Sound this fall.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Disease. Last year, more than 4,000 people participated in events held throughout the region, raising over a million dollars. Funds from the event are used for Alzheimer’s research and to provide care and support services for local families impacted by the disease.
“The Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings the community together to honor and celebrate those we’ve known, loved and lost to the disease, as well their devoted and compassionate caregivers,” says Bob Le Roy, Executive Director of the Washington State Chapter. “When we walk together, each step brings us closer to our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s Disease.”
The events are family and pet friendly and all walk routes are fully accessible. It is free to attend; however, participants who donate or raise $100 or more will receive a Walk to End Alzheimer’s t-shirt. For more information or to register, please visit alz.org/walk.
