I remember oh so long ago

You dressed me up for treats.

We saw our neighbors’ smiling faces

Friends in costumes, filling the streets.

Mom stayed home and opened the door

While Dad took us to trick or treat

A smile on my face on Halloween

The memories are truly sweet

I raised my children with thoughts of you

Hallows Eve is hard to beat

I still remember the times we shared

Carving pumpkins, apple bobbing and sweets

I watch my children through your eyes

Now they’re raising their own

I hope you realize just how much

I appreciate you for all you have done

The memories are still alive in us

You are celebrated at this time of year.

You made Halloween special for us-

The traditions, the fun and the fear!

Tonight when we’re stuffed with candy

And we’ve celebrated with our friends

I will go to bed with thoughts of you

Mom & Dad, your magic never ends.

I thank you for the traditions

Of the times we share in love

I know you still watch over us

Even if you are watching from above

I’ll dream of ghosts and goblins

And of witches that I’ve seen

A dream of childhood trick-or-treating

On this Happy Halloween.
