This month Answers for Elders Radio focuses on learning all about Alzheimer’s and Dementia, as we build up to the Alzheimer’s walks throughout the USA!

Every day I speak with families who have loved ones who suffer from Alzheimer’s and Dementia.  Sadly, the statistics for the disease in Washington are overwhelming:
  • Alzheimer’s Disease has afflicted over 150,000 people in the State of Washington
  • They are cared for by over 300,000 unpaid family caregivers
  • It is projected that 1/3 of all residents of Washington State will die from Alzheimer’s or Dementia related causes.
There has never been a more critical time to find a cure.
That’s why we support the Alzheimer’s Association and encourage all of you to participate and support the Alzheimer’s Walk with your donations!  For the month of September we will be featuring experts who can help you navigate the care of a loved one who suffers from Alzheimer’s or Dementia. We will share tips on communication, finding the right type of care and housing, and also, in learning more about the upcoming walks that will be happening in September and into October.
Finding a cure for Alzheimer’s has never been more urgent.  If you haven’t signed up yet, we encourage you to do so!  Go to Alzwa.org to learn more!
